American Dynamics, part of the Tyco Security Products business unit, announces the launch of VideoEdge Micro, a compact version of the popular VideoEdge network video recorder.
VideoEdge Micro is ideal for companies with limited space that want to meet their active surveillance needs only with an IP solution. The recorder is easy to set up and use. A PoE (power over ethernet) switch detects and supplies power to IP cameras, while the auto-sensing function identifies and helps assign IP addresses to network cameras.
VideoEdge Micro includes advanced features seen in the VideoEdge, such as activity and trajectory maps, monitoring how long people stay in certain areas, and detecting empty shelves.
It also allows users to view high-quality video in real time, even on low-bandwidth connections. Using this innovative bandwidth dynamic, the recorder can restrict the amount of data transmitted over a LAN when sharing the connection with other devices.
