The company Vivotek has introduced to the market its new cameras with fisheye lenses created for surveillance applications.
The lenses of these equipment allow panoramic views of 180° on frames and 360° for enveloping views (ceilings, floors, mounting tables), without blind spots. Keep in mind that a fisheye camera is capable of providing a wider field of view of 8x than a standard VGA camera.
A fisheye lens creates a distorted view of a scene, providing a powerful surveillance tool that can allow for much more detailed coverage than a conventional lens.
These types of cameras can be used in banks, industries, government buildings, for traffic control and in all places where a complete view of the scene is required.
