In order to increase the quality of video and analytics in network video cameras and encoders, Axis launches its new Artpec-4 chips. This new chip increases processing power, light sensitivity and H.264 compression
The Artpec-4 is designed to deliver video with less noise and greater sensitivity to light for sharper images of moving objects; the chip is part of Lightfinder technology, which allows an IP camera to record colors and detail clearly in dark and low-light conditions.
In addition to H.264 it also supports Motion JPEG, which means that video streams can be individually optimized based on particular needs, this leads to better HDTV video, greater flexibility and lower network infrastructure and storage costs.
Likewise, the chip offers deinterlacing technology and multi-channel video ports, which reduces the cost per port for video encoders.
