OPTEX has decided to expand its award-winning REDSCAN series of laser scanners with the launch of a short-range indoor model that provides the same benefit of its 'big' peers but is lighter, more compact and has a range of control and power (PoE) similar to IP dome cameras.
RLS-2020I is an indoor sensor that uses the new generation of laser that generates a customizable 'virtual' wall or a panel with a detection area up to 20 x 20 meters to identify the presence of people or objects.
It protects areas from security breaches such as intrusion, theft or unauthorized access, as well as improves the reliability of video-based motion detection and surveillance.
By measuring the time it takes for the emitted laser beam to hit an object and reflect the signal back to the sensor, the RLS-2020I can analyze the size, location, and speed of the found object. The system can be configured to activate only when a certain object size is detected or when a distance threshold has been reached.
