The new HID Fargo INK1000 printer and encoder is the industry's first thermal inkjet solution, bringing secure, personalized credential issuance to mid-range organizations, enabling low-cost, high-quality credentials and eliminating the need for specialized card holders.
With this equipment there is no need to use the printing tapes or specialized card holders required in direct-to-card printing (DTC) desktop solutions that employ ink sublimation technology. Easy-to-install cartridges contain inks specially formulated to create images and text that do not fade and adhere to traditional commercial line PVC cards.
It fits most conventional cards, including laminated PVC for credit card production. The resolution of 600 x 1200 dots per inch (DPI) allows for sharp, bright, full-color text and composite black images for barcode readers, which are not obtained with standard DTC (direct-to-card printing) printers.
The contactless card encoding option is also available. The functionality of the HID Omnikey 5127ck miniature reader enables contactless coding for door entry, cashless sales on automatic machines, attendance and work time control, loyalty and gift program applications, as well as financial cards for the low-cost segment of the market using QR codes.
