HID Global introduced the latest in its line of printers/encoders with direct-to-card (DTC) printing technology, with new features that bring greater security and convenience to its renowned offering of entry-level models. This new offering represents a further reduction in the costs of printing ID cards, an ideal feature for organizations that take care of their budget.
Standard safety features built into the DTC1500 printer/encoder include a new custom watermark feature to apply transparent logos, symbols, text, and other permanent safety images inside the overlaminate panel. Watermarks, being practically impossible to duplicate, increase the security of the card without the need to invest in holographic overlaminates or stamped cards. A unique data protection feature makes the information printed on the resin panel unreadable. Likewise, protection with a conventional password and data encryption with the AES256 standard provide an additional level of security.
Another novel element of the DTC1500 printer/encoder is the low-cost, high-capacity half-panel color ribbons that significantly reduce the cost per card and total cost of ownership without diminishing quality. The DTC1500 prints dark and sharp text and barcodes thanks to a new function that allows you to adjust the resin threshold so that users can precisely configure and adjust the use of the K (black) resin panel based on color concentration.
