Little by little time passed, and we began to knock on doors with the desire to carry out a project of cycle of computer security conferences in Peru, the curious thing is that through the networks foreigners and foreigners said I support, but the people of Lima, did not pronounce, there was a large gap with respect to the subject, that's why we started with those issues, later I understood that those who said no, or did not respond, had desires to do things on their sides, for personal gains obviously. The following year we knocked on the doors of several universities, we received the classic answer, do not call us we will call you, in a single university they approved the idea, it is more they took us to the laboratories, showing us the environments, it was a particular lima university, then no, they answered the calls and oh surprise an event with a similar name came out, right at that university.
Do not expect this to be a masterful article about what Ethical Hacking is, more than anything is my personal opinion about what the (EH) means to me, since I started in the field of computer security, I was always very clear that knowing and learning I owe it to everyone who shares their knowledge, unfortunately finding where to learn has always been a matter, so in 2007, the month of June, we developed the first Forum Criminal Mind, an event that was attended by exhibitors of computer crimes and cyberterrorism, since that time I began to enter many lists of interest, in which I was only reading, what they wrote and debated there, I only rarely wrote some OFF TOPICS (OT), about trainings in my native country.
The comments I received about it were diverse, but well that topic already gives for another pseudo-article that should be titled "My disappointment in finding people who share their knowledge".
The Ethical Hacking for my way of seeing, is to share what one knows, helping with the little you know about the subject, that is why after reading the topic of anti-forensic tools, I decided to take out another topic with a brief compilation of computer forensic tools, encourage me to write here in the SI, because I read the comments of people who want to learn, I contacted some users asking them if they gave me a hand to make a free virtual classroom viable to do an Ethical Hacking course, but there I did not find an answer, later monitoring the messages, I realize that more than love for academic dissemination, some users have love for drums and dishes (that is said in my country, to those who do something to receive applause and not for wanting to contribute, but to self-flatter, boasting about what they know).
I consider that receiving applause is good, who do not like that, most of all because that reinforces our self-esteem, and already having a large ego, is a visible characteristic of those who are involved in this field, our ego is the greatest of our weaknesses and sometimes can become a virtue, very rarely clear this one.
From the point of view of narcissism of course, I hope not to bother you too much but I try to give a framework to start.
Ethical Hacking is to analyze the vulnerabilities of computer systems, to share the shortcomings that are in favor of improving security in the transmission of information.
In my way of seeing things it means: sharing what you know without discrimination or limitations of any kind.
It is to stand in an auditorium and say what you know and also when you do not know, you have to be honest and say that you do not know the subject, because of our ego, it is quite difficult to say NO, sometimes you have to stay silent for a few seconds and take into account self-awareness, no one is above anyone, we all started in this without knowing and little by little, heading in the search for information we managed to learn more, in the 80s, finding information about computer forensics was like finding the holy grail, but now it is no longer so. Now if you find information, you just have to know how to look for it, obviously we find too much in English. But already in this globalized world who does not know a little English, is the new illiterate almost a cardinal sin of globalization.
The Ethical is to help others, it is to tell them hey you are making a mistake, it is not to flatter those who know more than one, although sometimes flattery is the only way in which those who believe themselves to be "those who know best" share their knowledge. Obviously that is a pathological relationship between adular and egocentric manipulators, sometimes these egocentrics are filled with remoras that are next to them to learn, but they only feed like leeches and at the moment they least expect they are freed from symbiosis.
The Ethical for me is to help for free, to expose without profit motive, not to abuse those who do not have how to enroll in an ECH certification, is to tell them guys let's go ... I am here to give you a hand, even if you take a few minutes to remember how you started in search of information and how it was difficult to learn. Do not do the same as you did to you, when you looked for information and told you KNOWLEDGE COSTS, I spent so much and so much for my studies.
Not then, if they treat people like this, the world will turn them around, because what you do, comes back to us, everything is like that in life, sometimes we are down, sometimes up.
Ethical is sharing, that is the magic of GNU, sharing, improving, growing.
To finish I share a phrase that a boy reminded me: "The works of knowledge must be free, there are no excuses for it not to be so" Richard Stallman.
