In Argentina, the facebook fever does not stop. In May, the country added more than one million users, bringing the number of accounts to 15,111,480, according to Socialbakers. However, in other countries many are already deleted from the famous social network. Last month, in the United States, 6 million people (5%) deleted their account and in England about 100,000, according to new data from the specialized site Inside Facebook.
The number of abandonment of this social network could be much larger if deleting it would be simple, experts agree. It is that deleting a Facebook account is very complex. Those who want to leave this network have to follow a few steps. First of all you have to know that the account can be deleted temporarily (deleted to be able to return whenever you want) or forever (see Delete the profile ...).
If you choose to delete it temporarily, you have to remember that you can return to the network any day. Facebook saves the data. In this case, the first thing to do is a click where it says Account. Some options will be displayed, from which you have to choose Account Settings. Below everything will appear Deactivate account. But this is just the beginning.
After clicking deactivate account, Facebook points to the heart of the user who wants to leave it. And it shows photos of five "friends" with the caption "Surely you want to deactivate the account", "Germán will miss you" or "Ale will miss you".
Underneath, Facebook demands the why of the end. "Facebook doesn't seem useful to me", "I don't feel safe on Facebook" or "I spend too much time on Facebook" are some of the options to tick. If you do not want to suffer shocks, it is best to choose the "Other" option. And most importantly: right there you have to click on Do not receive email. Otherwise, even if one has been deleted, Facebook emails will continue to arrive. To give the definitive closure, they ask to place the password.
Delete the profile forever
Deleting your Facebook profile forever is more than difficult. In fact, the option cannot be reached by following a succession of clicks. To find the right place you have to go to Account and then to Help Desk. Inside a search window that opens there you have to type What do I have to do to permanently delete my account? Then a long text appears, within which you have to look for the phrase Send your request here. You have to click on the phrase. Then a new page appears with the title Delete my account. You have to accept. As if this were not enough, comes the definitive notice: "You are about to permanently delete your account Are you sure?" We must accept again. And the final warning comes. "Your account has been deleted from the site and will be permanently deleted within 14 days. If you log in within 14 days your account will be activated." In this option you also have to OK. Otherwise the account will remain open.
