Now LulzSec admits that it has infiltrated the servers of the sony Pictures Entertainment websites, from where they have accessed the networks. The hackers have posted on Torrent the names, dates of birth, addresses, email accounts, phone numbers and passwords of thousands of people who had participated in the company's contests.
"With a simple entry, we accessed EVERYTHING," it appears written in the statement of the collective, in which it asks those affected why they trust a company "that allows itself to be exposed to these simple attacks". A Sony spokesperson has revealed that the assault is being investigated.
This new attack on Sony has become a phenomenon on Twitter, propitiated by the hacker group itself. LulzSec posted on its official Twitter profile this message: "We're working on another Sony operaction. We've condensed all our excited tweets into this one: this is the beginning of the end of Sony" (We are working on another operation for Sony. We've condensed all our excited tweets into this one: it's the beginning of the end for Sony.) Under the hashtag #Sownage, users of the famous social network express their opinion on the attack on a Japanese company.
Just this Thursday Sony executives were summoned by the US Congress to testify for the April attacks against the PlayStation gaming network. Representatives criticize that it took the company several days to notify customers of the problems. This infiltration is considered the largest attack in the history of the Internet, and caused the closure of this and other services for a month.
In May, LulzSec also claimed responsibility for an attack on the US public television network, PBS, for airing a documentary that damaged Wikileaks' image. This organization has released declassified information from U.S. diplomacy.
The hackers also broke into Fox.com's internal network and published data of participants in the upcoming edition of the reality show 'X Factor', as well as in the networks of the Sony BMG record label in the Netherlands and Belgium. They previously attacked Sony Music Japan.
