14/04/2011. The Security Manual for Higher Education Institutions reveals that there is a gap in the record of violent acts and that "put at risk the physical and emotional integrity of students".
The way of being, living and transiting in educational centers from kindergarten to university has been altered by the climate of violence and insecurity, which has touched the most sensitive fibers and shows the fragility of educational spaces in the face of criminal gangs.
Given this situation, the plenary session of the Council of public universities and related institutions of the ANUIES, will approve this Friday the Security Manual for Higher Education Institutions, which will be free for all the houses of study that want to implement it.
The 70-page document, divided into 5 chapters, reveals that there is a gap in the record of violent events and that therefore put at risk the physical and emotional integrity of the university community.
The text shows that 30 percent of universities face criminal incidents, despite the fact that 84.7 percent have surveillance cameras and 35.6 have electronic entry systems.
