Malware that attacks social networks is as widespread as malware that targets PCs, and, for BitDefender, the reason is that, in its spread, mobile devices are increasingly involved, according to Dealer World Spain.
An example is a recent massive scam on Facebook, which used as a hook the promise to show users the status of a girl who caused her expulsion from school. Users who clicked on the link downloaded a worm from Facebook, and were victims of a scam to make money through adword based on appropriation regime. According to statistics from goo.gl, one of the URLs used for the spread of this malware generated 28,672 clicks, 24 percent of which came from mobile devices.
