02/02/2011 Saltillo. After confirming that Saltillo was the only municipality in Coahuila that registered an increase in the resources of the Municipal Security Subsidy (Subsemun), Mayor Jericó Abramo Masso announced that more equipment will be acquired than originally planned.
From the outset, 20 more urban cameras will be acquired, which will be destined not only to the most conflictive roads, but to sectors and neighborhoods where serious problems of theft and vandalism have been detected.
According to the Mayor, one of the reasons why this increase was received is due to the correct application of resources in a timely manner.
"All the requirements were met, such as increasing the salary, providing bulletproof vests to all the elements; they are factors that somehow allowed us to access those resources," he said.
He recalled that the investment program also requires the participation of municipal resources.
The Subsemun serves to strengthen the performance of the functions of the Municipality in matters of public security, as well as to improve the infrastructure of the police corporation to safeguard the rights and integrity of the inhabitants.
"The cameras are going to be installed in sectors where they have detected frequency in terms of gangs, robberies; this will provide greater security along with the security fence of the patrol with GPRS, which allows us to give a better service in less time and covering a greater space, "he said.
Currently, from the Integral Center for Administration and Programming (CIAP) the cameras placed in different parts of the city are operated, and have allowed the capture of events such as emergencies, road accidents, smoke columns, run overs, minors at risk at traffic lights, urban transport infractions, water leaks, fuel spills, floods, injured people and garbage burning, among others.
