1. Canadian "Newsletters" (NEWSLETTER = 5.12%)
A year ago, spam that attached advertising messages to a newsletter was the favorite method of spammers. This week the word Newsletter is booming again. And it is being used, mainly, in the sale of products of the "Canadian pharmacy". Although, the most interesting wave of spam of this type is the one that announces an email sending service that has a database of addresses of 12 million and HTML templates of "newsletters" or newsletters. That is, they announce themselves. The all-in-one spam service.
2. Click to infect yourself (CLICK = 2.95%)
The word click has been the second most used in spam this week, with about 3%. This is one of the waves of spam that attach malicious programs disguised as harmless e-cards. In order to trick users and incite them to run the attachment, this file comes with double extension (. Gif.exe), so if the operating system is set to not display known extensions, you will only see the file named card.gif. The file hides, in reality, the Backdoor.Zapchast.PI that will give full control over the infected machine to a remote attacker
3. The polite scammer (PLEASE = 2.76%)
In this week's ranking, PLEASE has 2.76% of the most frequently used words in spam. The typical and classic Nigerian scam, relocated to Hong Kong to give it more credibility, is the type of spam that uses this word the most. Unlike other attempts of this kind, the scammers behind these attacks don't expect to steal from you (at least, not at first), but rather build a database of email addresses of people who are so naïve as to respond to these types of messages.
4. Subscribe to spam again (SUBSCRIBE = 2.70%)
The fourth place this week is for the word subscribes. It is widely used in email sales of medicines, especially in those of the Canadian pharmacy. They usually use a newsletter template – with a central image and multiple links. This clone of the Canadian pharmacy is housed in Russia. Before taking the user who clicks on one of the links to the landing page, it makes a series of redirects and also adds the victim's address to a database.
5. Buy our medicines cheap (BUY = 2.19%)
The word Buy is the word most related to medicinal spam and the sale of replica accessories such as watches and bags. This type of spam has a lot of scam because those who buy something through the promoted services usually do not receive the merchandise and, however, they usually lose the money from their credit cards.
