A lower level of capacity is required to pose increasingly sophisticated threats from anywhere in the world. No network is exempt.
The new decade marks a pivotal moment for information security. Years ago, companies cared about teenagers with advanced knowledge who tried to challenge the security of corporate networks as a nightly mischief executed from their homes. But these first "hackers" have now been replaced by criminal organizations that try to carry out computer fraud through the knowledge and possibilities that the Internet offers them today.
According to Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's latest global security survey (see Presentation), any organization with a sizeable computer network has been compromised in some way in recent years.
The stakes have never been higher and the battle is being fought in all corners of the world as the threats are increasing: botnets, botnets, Trojans, malware, spam, phishing, where such threats are increasingly sophisticated making even the most cautious of specialists can be deceived.
To respond to this issue, the majority of respondents in the seventh Global Financial Services Security Survey (87%) confirm that they have an information security plan or plan to have one in the next 12 months.
Organizations appoint qualified personnel dedicated to managing information security
The responses from our security survey this year confirm the idea that a crucial time has come for organizations in terms of safety and security where organizations are beginning to be proactive in terms of security, adopting new technologies "early" instead of adapting to situations after they happened reactively and applying tools late.
A relatively low percentage of respondents (36%) indicated that the main barrier to implementing information security is "lack of sufficient budget", compared to 56% who had chosen such an answer last year.
It highlights a change of priority in organizations in terms of investment in security, highlighting the fact that during the worst economic downturn in recent decades and that has led to cuts in all types of budgets, it is identified that in general, information security budgets have been maintained and even in many cases have increased.
