HID Global launches vanGO, the first visual security solution with One-2-One technology

Latin America. HID Global announced the launch of vanGO, a visual security solution that enables universities, businesses and state entities to create and issue personalized and secure IDs with higher levels of protection.

HID Global's vanGO portfolio sets a new standard in custom security with Affordable One-2-One™ technology, provides a high level of protection against counterfeit attempts, and allows credentials to be issued immediately through a simple desktop solution.

With the vanGO solution, credentials are hot-stamped with a special square metal patch that can be engraved with the image of the credential holder's face just before the credential is issued, using an inscription laser module and HID Global's FARGO® HDP8500 high-performance printer. This image creates a unique relationship between the credential and its holder, which makes the card almost impossible to forge.  It is estimated that more than 90% of inspections are carried out with the naked eye, without going to an electronic reader at the place of access. Verification with a vanGO look facilitates the identification and visual authentication of the identity of the cardholder without the need for electronic readers or access to databases.

"Our goal is to develop creative yet practical solutions that address the security concerns felt today by numerous organizations, from university campuses to state entities to global enterprises," said Craig Sandness, vice president of HID Global's Enterprise Secure Identification division. "With this recent advancement in our visual security solutions, HID Global enables our customers to issue and deploy affordably and easily more advanced and secure identification credentials than ever before, just as HID has been the promise to its customers."

By incorporating a personalized and nearly unspoken image of holders into the identification credentials of higher education institutions, vanGO ensures the protection of academic facilities and communities against counterfeiters who should not have access to those areas. For government entities, such as parks and recreation departments, state offices, public security centers, and weapons management and land management offices, the ease of this authentication system provides them with a high level of security, an economical solution, and a "readable at first glance" credential that they did not have before.

The vanGO solution also surpasses in effectiveness the conventional alternatives available in the market since each image created is unique to the credential and the holder of it. Now companies can issue secure IDs instantly, easily and inexpensively to their employees and contractors.

To develop the vanGO solution, HID Global leveraged the company's renowned visual authentication solution LaserCard Optical Security Media (OSM). The OSM platform has been implemented in some of the government programs that require a higher level of security in the world, such as the Permanent Resident Card of the United States, known as the U.S. Green Card, and in addition to not having registered any cases of individual counterfeiting, it has practically ended the massive counterfeits of cards in the programs in which it is used.

The vanGO portfolio of visual safety features with One-2-One™ technology includes two options. The standard vanGO option provides an economical business solution with a single configuration. For its part, the Custom option offers a more customizable solution that allows the customer to modify the shape and location of the vanGO patch on the card or add other visual security elements, such as a hologram around the patch.

The vanGO visual security solution is created using a complete, easy-to-use desktop customization solution consisting of:

  • Cards made with a PVC/PET compound containing the vanGO patch.
  • HID Global's FARGO HDP8500LW laser enrollment module, now available with the industrial-grade, high-definition FARGO HDP8500 ENCOD card printer already used in numerous high-security applications.
  • ASURE ID® 7.6 Card Personalization Software from HID Global, which includes custom templates to locate the vanGO patch on HID Global credentials.

HID Global's vanGO visual safety solution is now available.
