Latin America. Hikvision announced that its series of IP cameras, DS-2CD3 and DS-2CD5, obtained the Common Criteria certificate for Information Technology Security Assessment (abbreviated as Common Criteria or CC) with EAL2 type warranty augmented with ALC_FLR.2 (EAL2+).
As one of the most recognized international standards (ISO/IEC 15408) in information security technology, common criteria certification is primarily applied to assess the security and reliability of information technology products or solutions and also focuses on the protection of private information. Government organizations or government agencies from 28 countries have participated in the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA)[2], including the National Information Assurance Partnership and the U.S. Department of Defense. Many business organizations also use CC certification as a requirement for their relevant acquisitions.

As a required process to obtain the Common Criteria certificate, Hikvision successfully passed the rigorous assessment conducted by the Brightsight testing laboratory of Common Criteria, a world-renowned security assessment institution.
