Install motion sensors when pets are present?

Latin America. This is one of the most frequently asked questions asked by pet owners who in turn want or need to install motion sensors in their homes.

The answer is yes. It is possible that pets do not become the terror of these devices and that they can be installed with total normality, and of course, not have false alarms.

The key is to choose the right sensor and follow some recommendations, so if you have a pet and this is the reason for not having installed these devices, this article will interest you.

The first thing you should know is that there are anti-pet motion sensors, however, it is normal to wonder is this function real? Does it apply to any pet? At any height?

It should be clarified that not all anti-pet sensors are equally efficient, even, in most of these only changes are applied to the bottom of the sensor lens (fresnel lens) that make "invisible" a pet of "certain size" assuming that for that size it has a weight and, therefore, density or energy level (heat).

But what if it's a cat?  The felines are not going to just walk on the floor, they are going to jump and climb to other levels of height, so they are going to be detected, resulting in false alarms.

On the other hand, there are devices that go beyond the lens strategy, the best have algorithms that measure the energy level constantly, the speed at which energy moves and how many times it appears / disappears from the scene.

That way, a pet up to a certain size can be ignored, regardless of the position in front of the sensor.

Another solution
A method that also works is to leave aside the interior and dedicate yourself to the outer perimeter (doors and windows), it is a totally efficient and effective solution to protect all the spaces of your home.
