Hikvision launches its Facial Recognition terminals

Latin America. Hikvision has just launched an innovative range of facial recognition terminals that incorporate Deep Learning algorithms for access control and office environments, in order to improve the entry of people, building management, employee management and security operations.

The company introduces three models of facial recognition terminals, each with a unique and flexible design for a wide variety of applications and scenarios:

  • Wall-mount facial recognition terminals: DS-K1T604MF and DS-K1T606MF.
  • Wall or base mount facial recognition terminal: DS-K1T605MF.
  • Facial recognition component for access turnstiles: DS-K5603-Z.

These three models are easy to install and use. The wall-mount terminal is well suited for quick access entrances. While the wall or base mount terminal can be mounted on convenient vertical surfaces or on the reception desk. The facial recognition component is designed to be used in access turnstiles. Once installed, this model has the advantage of rotating horizontally to capture facial images at the most effective angle.

The wide availability of models and types allows a variety of interface or back-end combinations to respond to the multiple requirements of different scenarios and environments. Hikvision's facial recognition terminals support 1:1 or 1:N pairing modes, authentication via Mifare cards, and TCP/IP or RS-485 connectivity.

Fast and accurate facial recognition
Hikvision has incorporated Deep Learning algorithms in its facial recognition terminals, which allows a transmission with fewer delays and a reduced load on the back-end components. As a result, the terminals have a high success rate: the facial capture rate can reach 99% accuracy in less than 0.5 seconds.

During peak hours, access turnstiles equipped with Hikvision's facial recognition terminals are capable of responding in less than half a second, with 40 people passing by the minute.

Facial recognition terminals are applied to a wide variety of scenarios and environments, and can be highly customized. Multiple authentication modes are available: facial images, insertion of ID cards and comparison of images, personalized modes, among others. They can be applied, for example, in commerce, government agencies, small and large enterprises, factories, to name a few.
