They develop AI Cloud, a distributed structure that incorporates Cloud Computing and Edge Computing

Latin America. AI Cloud has been developed to solve real-world challenges in different vertical markets and to continuously generate value for end users.

Hikvision introduces AI Cloud,  a three-layer architecture that supports the goal of creating a new, more ingenious and faster class of Application Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is the next level of AI technology development, and its full implementation in a variety of vertical applications.

Hikvision's AI Cloud establishes a distributed fabric that incorporates Cloud Computing and Edge Computing. In this way, it extends the AI algorithm from the cloud to a peripheral network formed by video recorders and servers that also extends to other devices such as security cameras.

"Hikvision's AI Cloud enables the AI algorithm from the edge to the cloud, thus distributing the overall pressure that the center supports due to the large amount of data. This structure has been developed to solve real-world challenges in different vertical markets and to continuously generate value for end users," explains Hu Yangzhong, CEO of Hikvision.

Cloud computing allows users, with various computing capabilities,  to store and process data in a private cloud or on a separate server located in a data center. However, as the computing sector becomes increasingly versatile and complex, the greater the demand for high performance in data processing. In the process of transitioning data to the cloud, cloud computing consumes an enormous amount of time and resources, which congests the network and reduces its reliability.

Edge computing uses local computing resources to perform analysis at the data source. Powered by AI technology, it strengthens the detection capability of front-end cameras and helps to understand the captured scene more accurately and effectively. By integrating AI algorithms into peripheral devices, only selected information will be extracted and sent, for example an individual or a vehicle that appears in a video image, which significantly improves the efficiency of the data transition and reduces the bandwidth of the network, while maintaining high quality and accuracy. In turn, edge computing streamlines more efficient business responses, creating immediate action and event alerts.

It should be noted that artificial intelligence is the technology at the forefront in the security industry. Hikvision has accumulated more than a decade of experience in this field, and has been investing in video intelligence technology since 2006, when it established its first team of algorithms. In 2013, the company began implementing Deep Learning technology, and in 2016, it introduced its full range of Deep Learning products to the security industry.

Hikvision has adopted this technology across a whole family of products in order to make the most of its use. DeepinMind's range of DEEPINView IP cameras and range of network video recorders (NVRs) work together to deliver the full power and benefits of Deep Learning. While cameras represent the intelligent "eyes" of the system, NVR represents the analytical and storage capabilities of the brain. The products help to approach safety from two aspects: recognition, monitoring and counting of people and recognition and detection of vehicles. They use Deep Learning technology for its most effective function, its ability to classify and recognize thousands of characteristics.
