Latin America. CommScope has announced the launch of two new products that will help power and make more efficient data transmission, as well as connectivity with Power Over Ethernet (PoE) devices, not only indoors, but also outdoors: the new outdoor patching cables and the new MiNo6 small diameter Category 6 performance connection cable.
New outdoor patching cables
Ethernet-based data devices are moving beyond the building and growing in applications such as Power Over Ethernet (PoE) distributed to security cameras, wireless access points and security access, aware of these new needs, CommScope has announced a new family of outdoor connection cables, designed for wide deployments.
The new connection cables are recommended for outdoor applications above ground. These are UV-proof and waterproof, but not waterproof; so it is recommended to be used above ground in aerial applications, on access roads, parking garages, and along the sides of the building.
The cable is rated for the outdoors and is resistant to sunlight according to the UL 444 Meteorometer, cold impact proof and xenon arc exposure for 720 hours. The cable used in the patch cord is classified as CM-LS, which implies that it allows the cables to be routed in and through the building in places suitable for the CM cables.
Available in both unshielded and shielded versions, this cable is available in a variety of pre-connectorized lengths with CommScope's premier RJ45 connectors to suit the installation. The cable assembly uses a high-performance modular plug, however, it is not resistant to sunlight or water, and therefore must be protected by the device that is attached.

- UNshielded CAT6 (UTP)
- Shielded CAT6 (FTP)
- UNshielded CAT6A (UTP)
- Shielded CAT6A (FTP)
- MiNo6 Small Diameter CAT6 Performance Connection Cable
Similarly, CommScope has announced the new MiNo6 small diameter connection cable; a true UTP Category 6 / Class E performance connection cable of reduced diameter, using an AWG braided conductor and an efficient LSCM dual sheath material.
MiNo6 provides maximum flexibility and durability, as well as a highly designed RJ45 plug, which helps precisely control termination and results in consistent and superior data transmission performance.
Some of the main features of MiNo6 are:
- Nominal Cable Diameter (DOJ): 0.15" (3.81mm)
- ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Performance Category 6 Cable / ISO 11801 Performance Category 6 Cable (except cable gauge)
- It supports IEEE 802.3af/802.3at (48 cables in one package) and proposes 802.3bt Type 3 and Type 4 (24 cables in one package) for PoE applications.
- Mechanically compatible with SecureMAX and OneLink from the SYSTIMAX product line
