Latin America. Milestone Systems, the global open platform leader in network video management software (VMS), launched XProtect 2017 R2.
Milestone meets the growing demand for connected video and corporate systems with the launch of three new products: XProtect Essential+, XProtect Express+ and XProtect Professional+.
These new products operate in installations of a few chambers or with thousands of them. All products offer full support for hardware acceleration, thanks to which system performance can be increased by simply adding a compatible graphics card that can take care of the heavy lifting in video decoding, leaving room for the system to take care of other tasks.
Expanding possibilities through connectivity
Support for the Milestone Integration Platform (MIP SDK) and customization options built in with the rules execution engine allows Milestone partners to obtain tailored video solutions, including video analytics tools or integrations with other systems, such as building management systems, financial or other corporate systems.
XProtect Express+ and XProtect Professional+ support Milestone Interconnect, allowing these systems to be part of a wider network of corporate video systems.
These new products open up new possibilities for the Milestone community by offering video service solutions specifically targeted at each customer's needs. If the customer has milestone care maintenance, system performance monitoring can be done online to enjoy the full benefits of advanced video systems with full remote operation.

New features in Milestone's XProtect 2017 R2
As video management systems become increasingly essential to companies' business activity, computer security is a growing concern on today's technology curve.
The XProtect 2017 R2 update also includes several security enhancements that strengthen computer security, including protecting video recordings through robust encryption for the media database. The integrity of the recordings is guaranteed by digital signature, using SHA-2 (secure hash algorithm 2), an important security standard. Milestone relies on these features to meet customers' highest security demands.
As part of the continuous refinement of the ease of use of Milestone's software, the audio features in XProtect have been improved. New features have also been added to process maps and improve operational efficiency.
