Mexico. The National University of Distance Education (UNED) has awarded Tecnocom the project for the partial technological renovation of the data network infrastructure of the UNED, as well as the maintenance service of preventive, corrective hardware, support and software update for the next four years.
The UNED, by its very nature, requires a high-performance and available IT infrastructure as a key tool that allows interaction between the different members that are part of the educational community.
In this sense, on the one hand, the technological renovation will allow not only to increase the functionality of the IT infrastructure, but to adapt the design of its architecture to the specific needs of each center. And on the other, the set of services oriented to the management of the life cycle will allow to maximize its level of availability, anticipating solutions to future needs and minimizing the impact of possible incidents.
Tecnocom holds the highest level of certification of the different manufacturers included in the scope of the project. This fact guarantees the UNED that Tecnocom has the technical and human resources and the necessary procedures for the provision of this type of services in accordance with best practices.
The UNED has been collaborating with Tecnocom for more than 15 years, supplying network equipment for the Communications and Security Area. Likewise, and in the area of services, Tecnocom has been responsible for the installation and configuration of network equipment (LAN and WIFI), in addition to the support and maintenance service in all the Campuses of the UNED.
