Latin America. Schneider Electric knows how to significantly reduce the management required in data centers and other areas where connectivity is required, thanks to Uniflair technical floors.
"To connect the data centers requires a great diversity of cables that to connect data, energy and services, to this must be added the distribution of cooling and ventilation systems, without neglecting all the technology necessary for the automation of processes," says Saida Ortiz, IT Business Unit Director for the Andean Zone at Schneider Electric. "The technician floor is a proven solution for its versatility and this puts it as one of the most requested options in data centers to make connectivity in data centers more efficient and reliable."
The versatility of Uniflair by Schneider Electric's technical floors allows data center connections to grow harmoniously while being managed efficiently and safely, while reducing costs related to the maintenance and optimization of infrastructure, cabinets, servers, ventilation and air conditioning systems, without neglecting the entire monitoring and automation network.
Among the main benefits obtained with the implementation of technical floors in data centers we have:
• Adaptability: The area under the access floor allows to adjust to the needs of the data center, by facilitating air and water connections for cooling, for example.
• High mechanical performance: When combined with the panel alternative, it can meet the most demanding mechanical specifications.
• Optimization in air distribution: The technical floor, being modular, allows to couple integrated equipment where the data center requires them.
• Flexibility: This feature allows the data center to adapt to future demand and growth, improving efficiency and resource distribution over time.
• Security and reliability: One of the critical points today. In addition to allowing quick and hassle-free access to cables and data and power connections, water or air, timely control of all eventualities is achieved.
• Cost reduction: All these characteristics, together with the ease of connection to technological and functional networks, the modularity of all sets of operations and the ability to adapt over time, make this a solution that improves both maintenance and adaptation costs throughout the life cycle of the data center.
A solution for the long term
The design of a Uniflair access floor is based on technological and technical advances that sustain the entire operation intelligently and reliably over the years.
An example of this are the panels of 60 cms2, manufactured based on a center of chopped wood sheet that resists 720 kilograms per square meter, coated at the bottom with aluminum sheets half a millimeter thick and with a laminated plastic top cover for high traffic resistance.
The supports, on the other hand, are made of galvanized steel, with heights ranging from 30 cms to 150 cm, depending on the installation needs of the data center. A circular base welded to the structural tube are topped with a coupling that supports the head of the support and receives the structure of the access floor, together with the frames allow the supports to be separated more than 60 cms, which gives greater freedom in the design of the infrastructure and improves the flexibility of the entire platform.
"In the data centers there are the server rooms, the backup battery rooms and the control offices. All of them require modularity and reliability, without neglecting efficiency and safety. Uniflair becomes the right solution to make installations respond to the demands of users regardless of present or future conditions", concludes Saida Ortíz, from Schneider Electric.
Thus, technical floors become the best alternative for the deployment of data center infrastructure anywhere.
