Mexico. Belden Inc. introduced its new line of flexible Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) cables.
"VFD cables are generally large in size and difficult to install, which takes installation and maintenance time. the new VFD flexible cables are designed to overcome these application challenges thanks to their more flexible design," said Nick Birk, product line manager at Belden. "To achieve this flexibility, our cables feature up to 2,000 individual copper wires, making them very easy to bend without compromising the amount of copper used."
Belden VFD flexible cables are available in small, medium and large gauges to meet the specific needs of the engine, transmission and accessibility of different applications. But thanks to their special copper conductors, fine wire and more flexible cable covers, these flexible VFD cables can be used in hard-to-reach places. The new cable cover also has solid strength characteristics, including increased resistance to oils and use in colder temperatures.

Extend the life of the transmission system by handling high voltage spikes and eliminating possible damage to cable, motors, bearings, transmissions and related equipment.
Reduce high noise levels in VFD cabling through improved coating and grounding.
