International. EET Europarts, Europe's leading IT product distribution company and a manufacturer of advanced Scandinavian technology products, has recently set up Denmark's largest AutoStore facility in the EET Group logistics centre in Copenhagen.
In addition to providing comprehensive value-added warehousing and logistics services for all of its own EET Europarts locations worldwide, EET Group has also evolved to become an expert among logistics service providers, providing scalable logistics service solutions to both its business partners and independent companies.
EET Group's logistics division makes a difference in the entire logistics services chain: from international inventory management for distribution, to technical logistics services for high-end transport and logistics services. EET Logística continuously develops tools and processes that allow customers to meet even the highest market demands, from start to finish.
The recently installed AutoStore system is a part of the ambitious development strategy of EET Group's logistics division. AutoStore is simply an aluminum grid that provides storage space for goods. The size and shape of the grid only depend on the warehouse around it and ensuring optimal use of the area. Goods are stored in thousands of plastic containers inside the grid.
Robots are the true workforce of the AutoStore system. They move tirelessly through the rails at the top of the grid by lifting the containers and moving them for further processing and then placing them back inside the grid. When goods from the bottom of the grid are ordered, the robots work together to make their way to the destination compartment. To expedite future requests, robots are continuously optimizing the storage position of goods within the grid, placing the most requested containers on the upper levels.
Ports are the connection between the storage area and the warehouse staff. It is in this area where the containers leave the grid for further treatment. Robots continuously supply ports with containers ensuring that operators do not have to wait between consecutive orders.
The manufacturer of AutoStore is the Norwegian company Hatteland and the integrator is Element Logic AS.
