International. Tyco Security Products has announced the release of version 8.1 of its Proximex Surveillint PSIM solution, which offers new capabilities to streamline the configuration, deployment and management of alerts so that security operations personnel can respond faster and better to events.
In the centralized and easy-to-use deployment and configuration wizard, integrators can create and configure event and video integration modules, manage sensors, zones or areas, design operator tasks and configure related rules within Surveillint Enterprise or Essentials products.
"The evolution of Surveillint is based on helping integrators to perform the implementation faster and in turn is more intuitive so that users can take advantage of all the benefits of the PSIM solution," explains Kristy Dunchak, Director, Product Management, Integration Platforms, Tyco Security Products. "The improvements to the deployment tool and the new operator task management features reflect our constant focus on ease of use."
Many sites want to have the ability to specify a series of operator actions to execute when certain types of alerts are received. With the Operator Task Module, Surveillint 8.1 allows administrators to define multi-step tasks within the Operation Console through the intuitive interface of the Operator Task Designer, which includes drag-and-drop functionality.
These tasks can be implemented using the Task Rules Manager, which allows administrators to define collapsing alert rules, as well as a rule hierarchy to specify when operator tasks should run. Operators can follow the action that appears on a screen pane in the alert details window and can scale or reassign specific tasks as needed.
Surveillint can now also export reports in Excel format, including information on alert details, credential usage monitoring, suspect tracking, and search and report data.
