Vivotek launches new H.265 surveillance solutions

Latin America. Vivotek has presented its new surveillance solutions with H.265/HEVC, which include a series of 3-Megapixel and 5-Megapixel network cameras*, NVRs (network video recorders) and professional VMS (video management software).

To maximize the efficiency of bandwidth and storage, Vivotek presents the Smart Stream II technology with which greater profitability is achieved. By adopting Intelligent Flow II and Vivotek's H.265 technology, users will benefit from reducing bandwidth and data storage demands by up to 80% more than in systems employing H.264. All this allows Vivotek to reach a new step in IP surveillance and share this advance with its users.

"H.265/HEVC, the new video compression technology can deliver twice the efficiency of H.264. VIVOTEK, as a leading provider of IP surveillance solutions, aims to achieve this great achievement through its own development of Intelligent Flow II technology," says Tim Su, Director of the Product and Marketing Communications Department at Vivotek Inc. "Vivotek's Intelligent Flow Technology II can optimize resolutions for a desired area or object in order  to maximize bandwidth usage efficiency. By combining H.265 and Intelligent Flow II, we are able to create the most efficient system possible." Tim Su added, "To meet market demand, we introduced these comprehensive H.265 solutions, including megapixel network cameras, network video recorders and remote video management software. Through these total solutions, customers can fully enjoy the best bandwidth efficiency and storage-saving solutions without losing image quality."

Vivotek initially introduces the H.265 V-Pro network cameras, a range of 3-megapixel and 5-megapixel network cameras* available in different types. Equipped with SNV (Supreme Night Visibility) and WDR Pro technology, the new H.265 V-Pro network cameras guarantee high-quality images under any lighting conditions. Making this range one of a kind, the H.265 box network cameras feature a Gigabit Ethernet port, Instant Photo Focus functions with faster data transmission, and precise focus capability, even for fast-moving objects. For harsh environments, specially designed for outdoors, bullet and vandal-proof network cameras are built to be weatherproof with IP66 rating and IK10 rated vandal-proof cover to offer a wide temperature range from -50°C to 50°C.

In addition to these advanced network cameras, VIVOTEK also features two H.265-compatible NVRs, the 32-channel ND9541 and the 16-channel ND9441. Both NVRs fully support H.265 video compression technology and up to 24TB of storage capacity with 4 hard drive trays, offering 30% to 50% more recording capacity compared to other similar systems equipped only with H.264 compression. In addition, a spherical distortion correction function allows the recording of a panoramic image while areas of interest are displayed in greater detail.

Thanks to the EZConnect app, users are able to remotely monitor their surveillance system from any Android or iOS device anytime, from anywhere. Finally, VIVOTEK launches the new generation of VMS, VAST Version 1.11. This new version supports the H.265 codec and a software license. By implementing a software license, users no longer need to worry about the cost or risk of damage from  a USB key. Meanwhile, users can use the default free 32-channel license, which can be securely relocated anywhere, instantly. The new version of VAST 1.11 also features a built-in Intelligent Alarm Management feature, which allows security personnel to record alarm status and take notes to enable quick investigation and efficient management.

* Vivotek's 5-megapixel H.265 network cameras are scheduled to be available by the end of the fourth quarter of 2015.
