Colombia. Fortinet released the results of a study conducted among information technology decision makers, in which 49% consider wireless networks to be the most vulnerable element of it infrastructure, compared to 29% that corresponds to the center (core) of the network.
This survey also revealed that insufficient security in wireless networks is a concern for 92% of CIOs surveyed. However, more than one-third of enterprise wireless networks installed for internal employees do not have basic security features, such as on-site authentication.
These findings were revealed by a survey of 1,490 INFORMATION technology decision makers in organizations of more than 250 employees globally.
Other important results:
- Nearly half (48%) of IT decision makers consider the loss of sensitive corporate or customer data to be the biggest risk when operating a wireless network that lacks security.
- 72% have adopted a cloud approach to managing their wireless infrastructure, and 88% rely on the cloud for future wireless deployments.
- 43% of respondents give access to guests on their corporate wireless networks; and 13% of these organizations do so without any control.
