Illustra Edge cameras with exacqVision recording software

International. Tyco Security Products, the world's largest security and fire protection company, announces the launch of Illustra Edge, a complete high-definition video system that combines in a single solution, ready to use, an IP camera, the software of the exacqVision Edge video management system (VMS) previously installed,  and SD card for storage. The new Illustra Edge product line offers everything you need to achieve automatic connection and configuration, in just a few minutes.

The Illustra Edge solution is ideal for small installations of up to 10 cameras or for remote locations where installing server hardware is not practical. It is an easy and effective way to implement a high-definition IP video system without incurring the costs involved in installing and configuring a server's hardware, since server software and video storage are integrated into the camera. To configure the system it is only necessary to mount the camera, connect it and start monitoring live and recorded video material. Illustra Edge already comes pre-configured with a server license for automatic and easy installation. For larger applications and enterprise solutions, a simple license upgrade to exacqVision Edge+ allows you to expand this solution to an unlimited number of servers.

Thanks to the incorporation of exacqVision Edge software, users have the possibility to view live or recorded video from multiple Illustra Edge devices or recording servers (NVRs) simultaneously. The built-in video management software allows users to export video material search results, display alarm events on screen, and get immediate playback of both video and audio events via exacqReplay. The exacqVision client software runs on computers running Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. Additionally, users can install the free web service software on a separate PC to view video on a web browser, tablet or smartphone.

The Illustra Edge recording solution offers a high level of reliability, as there is no single point of failure. If one camera fails, the others will continue to transmit and record video. Traffic from the camera to the server is internal and does not occur on the user's network, thanks to which the solution provides low traffic to the network.

"This is a complete solution for customers looking to create their own video surveillance solution without incurring additional server costs and who want to avoid a complex installation," said Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of Tyco Security Products' Video Line for Latin America. Whether it's a small business, a retail store, or a customer who needs to complement their business system because they have a remote location or intermittent wireless coverage, the Illustra Edge solution fits their needs."

The Illustra Edge line is available in three camera models: the Illustra Pro 5MP Fisheye, the Illustra Pro 2MP Compact Mini-Dome and the Illustra Pro 2MP Compact Mini-Bullet. The Illustra Edge Fisheye camera features built-in image distortion correction that enables real-time 180°/360° panoramic views or quadrant display, with 4 independent 4x3-type normalized video streams. Its 5MP capacity makes this camera as powerful as two and up to four cameras for numerous indoor applications. The Compact Mini-Dome and Mini-Bullet offer high-definition video with wide field of view, IR illumination and wide dynamic range. Although discreet, these versatile cameras  are equipped with various viewing angles, among others, the corridor mode, which makes them enormously useful in lobbies, corridors and alleys.
