Milestone Husky Recorder Enhancements Announced

International. Milestone Systems announces enhancements to its Milestone Husky series of network video recorders (NVRs). The sleek network video devices, integrated with Milestone's video management software, now offer significant increases in internal storage capacity.

Expansions of storage capacities mean that our customers can take advantage of easy-to-install video surveillance solutions for more demanding requirements, i.e. longer video retention periods and better quality recordings. The increased storage capacity allows customers such as government organizations to meet 90-day storage requirements for recordings or casinos to obtain continuous, high-resolution recordings.

  • 2x more storage on the Milestone Husky M10 – up to 2TB (1TB)
  • 3x more storage on the Milestone Husky M30 – up to 12TB (from 4TB)
  • 2x more storage on the Milestone Husky M50 – up to 48TB (24TB)

The Milestone Husky Hybrid series of NVRs will also offer an increase in its storage capacity. Hybrid NVRs, which allow users to combine IP and analog cameras to make an easy transition from analog to IP technology, offer the following options:

  • 2x more storage on the Milestone Husky M30 Hybrid – up to 8TB (4TB)
  • 2x more storage on the Milestone Husky M50 Hybrid – up to 32TB (16TB)

Like Milestone's other video management solutions (VMS), those in the Milestone Husky series adapt to future developments, allowing users to scale their video surveillance facilities as their business grows. Multiple Milestone Husky M30 or Milestone Husky M50 can be connected in a master/slave configuration. Users can view video from all connected cameras of networked Milestone Husky units by simply connecting to the master server.

For corporate scaling, all Milestone Husky Series NVRs can also use Milestone Interconnect™ to connect remote sites to the XProtect Corporate video management system for a centralized command and control structure. This makes it possible to operate locally or remotely a location that has a Milestone Husky NVR, either through a control center or a service provided by a Milestone business partner. The functionality of the Milestone Husky M30 and Milestone Husky M50 models can be extended by incorporating XProtect® add-ons and third-party integrations, such as access control and video analytics.

"We became aware of the change that was happening in the market for integrated NVR solutions," said Jay Shah, director of global business development, business incubation and joint ventures at Milestone Systems. "Our customers and partners asked us for more storage capacity with the Milestone Husky series and we delivered. They can now integrate and interconnect NVRs in more demanding environments. This change can only create new opportunities for our end users and integrators."
