International. Lack of knowledge, need for training and loss of control of expenses are the aspects that are emerging as realities in organizations in the world of IT.
In parallel, increased adoption of cutting-edge technologies, such as hybrid cloud or cloud computing, also stand out, according to the survey recently published by EMC and conducted by Vanson Bourne, which measured the opinion of 10,451 IT business decision makers from 33 countries around the world.
The survey revealed an increase in cloud adoption globally, with the majority citing hybrid as their preferred choice for achieving a higher level of agility and security (64% of respondents).
Specifically, hybrid cloud adoption grew by 9% since 2013 and that more than a quarter of respondents globally (27%) have already implemented one, peaking in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (28%), followed by Latin America (24%) and Asia Pacific and Japan (24%).
There is still a lot of work to be done despite the very positive adoption of cloud services. Countries with more advanced IT landscapes are less risk-averse and therefore adoption in them was higher, while emerging markets are understandably more cautious.
Hybrid cloud will become increasingly popular in emerging markets, said Josh Kahn, executive vice president, Global Solutions, EMC Corporation.
