New trends set the course for security applications

Colombia. Five technological trends define the new services demanded by end users. The challenge for monitoring centres is to implement them quickly and to be prepared for the future redefinition of these trends and the emergence of new ones.

The pace of technological change is accelerated and the success of its services depends on the assimilation of them.

Trend No 1 – IP Technology
Security systems with IP communication greatly expand the spectrum of applications, service creation and quality.  IP video systems, for example, offer higher quality, control and information than traditional analogue systems. If you don't already offer IP video systems, you're already at a disadvantage.  The same is true for alarm communication systems that migrate from phone lines to GPRS/IP communication, and the list goes on...

Trend No. 2 – IP Convergence
As users we do not want to use multiple applications on our computer or cell phone to access information from our security systems...   It's simple, users want to integrate all services and use a single application to control them.  IP systems favour the convergence of technologies, it means that not only multiple services are interconnected but they do so at a real level of information exchange.  From the user's point of view, he launches an application from his Smartphone, visualizes the cameras of his house, decides to change the status of his alarm and control the irrigation system, touches the screen slightly and can switch to the control of his office, now he wants to remotely activate a door and make sure that everything operates perfectly...

Trend No 3 – Mobile Networks
Smartphones, tablets and gadgets, all with connectivity to mobile networks and equally mobile users.  Your products and services have to be present there!  For example, modern applications for monitoring centers allow you to generate panic signals from the cell phone.

Trend No 4 – Itinerant users
Users of security apps are constantly on the move! They access information from different locations, device types, and networks.  The current user is unpredictable and applications must allow them to obtain their information regardless of the aforementioned factors.  Additionally,  data security is critical, security applications have to ensure encrypted and reliable communication protocols.

Trend No. 5 – "Consumerization"
Products and services are born from the needs of users and it is they who drive technological innovations. Therefore,  the products and services of a monitoring center must be in accordance with new technologies.  It is a continuous cycle that will lead it to meet the requirements of its customers and increase sales.

Products and trends:
To ensure that our users can meet the technological demand required by their customers, Solutec Soluciones Tecnológicas has promoted in the Latin American market products that meet new trends.
