New Milestone certifications for five companies

International. Milestone Systems produced a comprehensive report on the performance certification of five new Milestone Solution Partner solutions with IT infrastructure components such as servers, storage and office products.

The companies that overcame this extensive process with documented results are: EMC, HP Workstation, NetApp, Promise Technology and Seneca.

IT infrastructure, server, storage and client platforms are integral parts in deploying a video management network. Consequently, any calculation failure in server storage requirements will impact the efficiency in operating a system, which could lead to system failures and downtime.

To address these issues, Milestone works closely with IT infrastructure providers to ensure their systems are optimized for the Milestone XProtect® software portfolio, helping deployments to be tailored, made and delivered as the optimal system for each customer's technical needs.

The Milestone Solution Certification for IT infrastructure products verifies components in terms of interoperability and optimization for performance with XProtect VMS. The certification process provides documentation from the maturity and quality of a proven solution as a guarantee of system integrity and a differentiation of non-certified components.

"Integrators and end users can build solutions with confidence when they reference the configuration data tested in the Milestone certification process. The documented test describes how video solutions can operate within the parameters of the best performing tests," says Christian Bohn, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Milestone Systems. "We've been doing certifications and integration for years, and these additions continue to cement confidence in Milestone solutions for both its partners and customers."

Each certification project has three phases, starting with two benchmark test scenarios and peak performance testing. Statistics from Milestone XProtect Recording Servers of record are gathered to analyze performance as a video recording platform. The analyzed data and results are presented in a complete report with details about the configuration of the test system and a summary.

These tests identify whether embedded systems reach the minimum expected performance threshold from benchmarks recognized for their best practices. The certification also measures the maximum number of cameras at a certain frame rate, resolution, and codec with which the server and storage system can operate.

A summary of the Solution Certification report includes the optimal configuration for the control system using Milestone XProtect VMS along with the solution of the partner's products. This includes the architecture solution, performance results, information on use cases, detailed system configurations for XProtect VMS components and partner solution products.

The results of the Milestone certification are valid for the life cycle of the products being analyzed. The annual re-certification options, in case new versions are presented (by Milestone or the partner), serve to ensure that the documentation verifies that the integration is still compatible and optimized.
