Latin America. Sony announced the latest edition of its line of outdoor cameras with the launch of the Full HD cylinder-type infrared camera model SNC-VB632D.
The SNC-VB632D camera uses the recently adopted "Dual Light" dual lighting system with infrared (IR) illuminator and white LED light, functioning as an effective deterrent and allowing to obtain a clear visibility in dark conditions, either in black and white or in color.
The camera offers high-performance illumination at night using its IR illuminator, up to a wide range of 30 meters in black and white, with a minimum illumination of 0 lux (0.1 lux in color) at 50 IRE. When an object approaches, the built-in video motion detection function activates the LED light automatically, enabling color mode and illuminating objects up to a maximum distance of 5 meters to identify them clearly and in color.
"With the Dual Light system, the SNC-VB632D is the ideal all-in-one camera for transport and urban surveillance in complex environments," says Mauricio Meza, video security product manager at Sony Latin America. "White LED light is a visual deterrent that contributes to crime prevention in places where traffic decreases at night, while clear black-and-white and color visibility aids in post-incident identification and analysis. It can also reduce the total cost of ownership by including the sensor light inside the camera."
The IP camera also comes equipped with Ipela Engine EX, which combines Sony-exclusive signal processing and video analysis technologies, resulting in features such as:
- View-DR technology: allows a wide dynamic range in high contrast/backlight conditions of up to 90dB in Full HD
- Enhanced DEPA Advanced: Offers state-of-the-art video image analysis, such as face detection
- High frame rate of 60 fps: achieves a smoother and less blurry visual experience
- Image Stabilization: Reduces the effects of camera vibrations, producing clear and stable images
The SNC-VB632D camera will be available through the Sony product distribution channel in the fourth quarter of 2014.
