Implementation of an adequate video surveillance system in restaurants

Mexico. Thanks to the monitoring of security cameras it is possible to verify certain events in public areas of the restaurant and at the same time provide security to its diners and employees.

At present, due to insecurity and the constant assault on restaurants where in most cases, in addition to stealing the property, diners were stripped of cash, cell phones, wallets, jewelry and bags, it was determined the need to install a video surveillance system that offers general security surveillance for its employees and customers, video recordings of controversial incidents and remote access to video footage from its centralized security system.

The solution
An efficient solution is the installation of PoE (Power over Internet) cameras to reduce the time and costs related to installation. PoE technology sends both electrical power and data via a single Ethernet cable to a network-connected device. This eliminates the need to install Internet cameras near an electrical outlet or to extend power outlets to remote camera locations.

Likewise, a Smart PoE Web Switch needs to be installed in the manager's office, such as the TRENDnet TPE-1020WS model that has features such as 8 Gigabit PoE+ ports, 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 shared SFP slots. This PoE+ switch connects the cameras to the grid while supplying them with power.

In this way, the key areas such as entry points, checkout area, kitchen and dining area, it is recommended to install PoE Megapixel IP cameras for day and night TV-IP572PI and AND TV-IP672PI, to obtain aerial views of the box and dining areas.

They can also be programmed to make continuous recordings during the hours of operation of the restaurant and at the same time all cameras can record 24 hours a day when they detect movement, so they will save disk space. It is worth mentioning that the authorized staff of the restaurant will be able to access, see and control the cameras in real time.

The result
Trendnet offers the ideal solution for keeping an eye on restaurants, as it offers all the advanced features and reliability of competitive products at affordable prices. Another favorable feature is the ease of use that the cameras have, since this way it is not necessary to train the staff.
