In the quarterly report of Panda Labs it was revealed that 55.37% of the malware created during the third quarter of this year were Trojans, mostly aimed at the banking sector, followed by viruses with 23.43% and in third place worms 12.17%.Traditional methods of email infection decreased, but the number of infections increased through social media functionalities, such as clickjacking of the well-known "like" on Facebook, fake websites well positioned in search engines and exploitation of vulnerabilities.
The countries with the highest percentage of infections are: Taiwan leading the list, followed by Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Poland and Spain. Regarding spam, 95% of the email that moved on the Internet during the quarter was unsolicited mail, being issued from only 10 countries, such as India, Brazil and Russia.
