"This technique with adware and spyware has been occurring for some time with this type of entertainment sites, which can put user information at risk and will also generate complications in the normal use of the Internet," explained Jorge Mieres, security analyst at Eset Latin America.
Some casinos allow online gambling, others request the installation of a client program on the local computer and when this happens malicious components are hosted to spy on the player's actions and browsing habits, as well as to steal personal information.
In cases where malicious companentes are installed, pop-ups are opened, the user's email subscription is requested to receive promotions from online casinos and other services.
