Mexico. Digital infrastructure company Equinix announced the availability of AWS Direct Connect in Mexico, through the Equinix MX1 data center in Querétaro.
This strategic move will enable digital enterprises in the region to have private, direct access to the dedicated, high-speed, low-latency, and secure network of the public AWS regions, with the exception of China.
Through Platform Equinix, leading digital customers will streamline the management of their workloads and applications in the cloud, enabling enterprises to drive innovation by streamlining operations, increasing processing potential, and reducing network and application wait times.
As an AWS Partner, Equinix enables dedicated and hosted connections in its IBX data centers within the same metropolitan area as customers' infrastructure. This allows mission-critical workloads to benefit from faster speeds and higher bandwidth, resulting in enhanced hybrid cloud architectures.

Amet Novillo, general director of Equinix for Mexico, explained that the country is registering an accelerated movement of digital companies towards the modernization of its technological infrastructure and achieve a robust, secure and agile interconnection with an ecosystem of digital partners and cloud service providers.
"Equinix is a global leader in interconnection and the availability of AWS Direct Connect will enable enterprises in the region to accelerate their digital transformation and expansion strategies through software-defined interconnection that will also accelerate cutting-edge applications leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. In addition, customers focused on high availability can design their applications to run in multiple Availability Zones to achieve even greater fault tolerance," said Amet Novillo.
AWS Direct Connect is a cloud service that links your network directly to AWS for consistent, low-latency performance, and offers dedicated 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps connections and hosted connections up to 25 Gbps.
