Genetec Named Global VMS Market Leader

Reportes señalan a Genetec como líder del mercado global de VMS

International. Analysts from the firms Omdia and Novaira Insights highlighted that aspects such as continuous innovation, open architecture and hybrid cloud solutions underpin the sustained leadership of the Genetec company worldwide.

According to Omdia's 2024 Video Surveillance and Analytics Database Report, Genetec has maintained its number one global position in the VMS market while also being ranked number one globally in the combined video management software (VMS) and video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) market.

In the Americas, Genetec has maintained its market leadership with the No. 1 spot for 13 years. Omdia's report also highlights the company's strong performance in the EMEA region, where it is ranked No. 2, and in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China), where it is growing at a rate three times higher than the market, which has allowed it to gain the No. 3 spot.

The Novaira Insights Report also confirms Genetec as a global leader in total video surveillance software and service agreements, with a No. 1 ranking in the Americas, a No. 2 position in Asia Pacific (excluding China) and a No. 3 position in EMEA.

In the global VSaaS market (excluding China), Omdia's report ranks Genetec among the top 10 global leaders, and in the Americas, Genetec ranks among the top three companies that gained the most market share. This performance underscores the company's early leadership in SaaS innovation and the strong momentum of Security Center SaaS, a hybrid cloud solution designed to meet the growing demand for flexible cloud deployments.

"More than 50% of end users will continue to maintain at least a portion of their security infrastructure on-premises," said Oliver Philippou, Research Director of Physical Security Technologies at Omdia. "A hybrid cloud approach can enable customers to gradually transition to a cloud architecture, benefiting from the efficiencies of the cloud and preserving on-premises storage for legal, compliance, or business needs. This flexibility generates cost savings and ensures that customers are not forced to adopt a one-size-fits-all solution."

"The hybrid approach is not a stepping stone to the cloud, but the foundation for implementing physical security leveraging cloud technology," said Christian Morin, vice president of Product Engineering at Genetec Inc. "Customers need a flexible solution that respects their unique business requirements, recognizing that not all companies will choose or need to fully transition to the cloud."
