Mexico. The Mexican Association of Data Centers (MEXDC) warns that the world is immersed in technological changes that impact all economic sectors, which implies digital growth that is directly related to the data center industry.
Amet Novillo, president of MEXDC, maintains that, given the lack of knowledge about the relevance of this technological sector, in Mexico there are clear challenges that today have become more bearable thanks to the efforts carried out by the association he leads.
"The working commissions in areas such as Regulation, Education, Energy and Sustainability are the main lines of action of the MEXDC and the different achievements of each one depend on the work of the associated companies that today total 86 between partners, main partners and associates," he says.
Currently, the four commissions are actively working on strategic meetings with the different decision-makers and institutions, such as the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), the Federal Ministry of Economy (SE) and the state of Nuevo León, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), the National Energy Control Center (CENACE), the National Energy Control Center (CENACE), the National Energy the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of Querétaro (SEDESU), the Polytechnic University of Querétaro (UOQ), the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), among other organizations.
"The above has been done with the purpose of bringing the trends and best practices to the associates to boost the data center industry in Mexico and achieve a higher level of certainty that allows the more than US $9,000 billion expected to materialize, according to a study by MEXDC. to be invested in the country in the next five years. In addition to representing a united industry, which today is fundamental for the integral development of Mexico, the MEXDC is clearly an exclusive platform for associates who work for a level playing field to create a direct link between the leaders of each associated company and generate an economic spillover with opportunities for the entire industry," added Amet Novillo.
The associated companies have access to a very specific knowledge space for the Data Centers, and the MEXDC is working to strengthen the official portal to offer technical and research resources on management, success stories and innovation that
will be of great value to the industry, in addition to publishing very specific content and articles internationally that add value to the national market.
The recent MEXDC study on the Data Center industry in Mexico, which highlights a great prospect of growth in investments and the need to distribute almost 1,500 MW for new installations, confirms that the industry landscape needs to be conducted in a more comprehensive way, and coordinate the needs of all companies as an industry.
