International. ASIS International announced the appointment of William "Bill" Tenney as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024. Tenney brings 35 years of experience in security leadership from the public and private sectors.
As CEO of ASIS International, Tenney will spearhead the organization's strategic vision, working closely with members, partners, and stakeholders to advance the mission of fostering excellence in the security profession around the world.

Oatridge, CPP, 2024 president of ASIS International. "His diverse background spanning national security and global corporate security makes him uniquely qualified to lead our organization and advance our strategic priorities."

Tenney joins ASIS after serving as Chief Security Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Security for MetLife, Chief Risk Officer of Global Operations for Bloomberg, and Chief Global Security Officer for Target Corporation. Previously, he served in the national security community as a civilian and for eight years as a U.S. naval officer.

Tenney succeeds Peter O'Neil, FASAE, CAE, who served from 2016 to 2024. Tenney will become the eighth executive to lead this organization in its nearly seven decades of existence.

A graduate of St. Olaf College and Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, Tenney has completed his executive training at Harvard, Northwestern, and MIT. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Veterans Defense Project and an advisor to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
