Latin America. The decision was made during a meeting scheduled by the Latin American Security Association (ALAS by its acronym in Spanish), held on February 15.
According to ALAS, the objective of this meeting was to “review the current affairs of the Association from the administrative, financial and strategic fields,” as announced last weekend.
Through a statement released on Saturday, February 17, the Latin American Security Association (ALAS) reported that 13 of its directors were present at the meeting, as well as lawyer Alejandro Guardone, reaching the condition of quorum met.
"... with a majority vote of 11 votes in favor and one abstention (one director withdrew before the vote), it was decided not to give continuity to Alberto Álvarez," reads the document.
The Board of Directors also included a message of recognition for Alvarez, who served as CEO of ALAS for a decade.
"For ALAS and its BOD there are only words of gratitude and admiration for Alberto, who arrived at a critical moment for the Association and with his professionalism, vision and experience managed to position us as an obligatory reference in the industry in Latin America. Words are not enough to talk about Alberto's contribution to the Association and we hope to continue meeting him and his support along the way," they said.
