International. The new version of the leading unified security solution produced by Genetec includes enhancements to the location and authentication tools, as well as new automation features.
For example, Security Center now includes a new map widget for dashboards and improved zooming, which provides better experiences particularly when deployed in large cities or multiple sites.
"Rapid changes in the security landscape are driving the need for agile innovation. By adopting a continuous delivery model, we are able to deliver new features and security updates more consistently and with less disruption to customers, while maintaining the ambitious scale of our innovation strategy", said Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering and Chief Security Officer at Genetec Inc.
New map widgets
Operators can now create monitoring mini-tasks on their dashboards and place map cameras on empty tiles to view videos and easily search for features that interest them.
The zoom function now shows or hides layers depending on how close or further away the images are. This helps users visualize only what's important at their current zoom level, avoiding clutter.
For example, when driving away, doors and intrusion zones can be concealed, allowing operators to focus on cameras and LPR units at first glance. Hidden features will reappear when operators approach the level of the individual building.
Authentication enhancements
Security Center has also added new configuration enhancements for authentication services. These enhancements include a new setup wizard that guides users through the process, a troubleshooting window to help detect and diagnose issues, and a test window to check that everything is working properly before deploying it to production.
Efficiency levels
Throughout 2024, new features will be introduced that will enable advanced workflow activities, allowing operators to focus on the tasks that need their priority attention.
