Colombia. The Secretariat of Government of the Colombian capital reported that it will invest a millionaire sum to put into service 119 new video surveillance devices in different sectors of the city.
In this way, the authorities will seek to strengthen security levels through cameras equipped with modern technology, which will work articulately with the command of the Bogotá Police.
"We will install 119 new video surveillance cameras in 17 locations in Bogotá with an investment of more than $ 4 billion (about US $930 thousand). They are sophisticated equipment that we will strategically locate in each locality to improve security in specific environments of the city", said the Secretary of Government, José David Riveros, through the social network X.
The official said that the monitoring tasks will be carried out with special emphasis on areas identified as critical, among which are Ciudad Bolivar, Bosa, Kennedy, Engativá, Suba and Usaquén.
In these places, the multisensors present in the cameras will allow real-time monitoring to be carried out. Thus, the authorities hope to reduce the rates of robberies, extortion and homicides in commercial, entertainment and public parks in Bogotá.
