Peru. On ten masts of forty meters high were installed MIC IP ultra 7100i cameras of Bosch, which are part of the new video surveillance system of the port of Paracas in Peru.
In this way, the port infrastructure now has robust devices equipped with UHD (4K) resolution and powered by Artificial Intelligence, which allow to reliably monitor an estimated area of eleven hectares, even in adverse environmental conditions.
"Located just 70 kilometers from an area known for drug trafficking, our port must take extensive precautions to protect us from criminal activity. The security team needs to have full visibility to be able to see who is there", said César Rojas, Operations Manager of Puerto Paracas.
Technological features
Bosch ultra 7100i IP MIC cameras feature 12x zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS). In addition, they are mobile pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) devices. Remote pan, tilt and zoom from a control room give them excellent coverage of large areas.
"Thanks to ultra high definition, we can detect intruders and see what they are doing in great detail for the first time. Thanks to optical image stabilization, this happens even if there are strong winds shaking the masts with the cameras mounted at a height of 40 meters or if we zoom up to 12x in very salty air", added the Operations Manager.
Additionally, the executive pointed out that their previous camera system did not meet their expectations, so they faced a significant security risk by not being equipped to detect intruders in sensitive areas of the port, such as loading and unloading.
In contrast, current cameras can even be "trained" to recognize stationary or moving target objects. This tracking based on Artificial Intelligence also allows to determine the exact position of the objects so that, in case of an emergency, the personnel can arrive more quickly.
