Colombia. A little over a month ago, the appointment of Guillermo González Vélez as general manager of Spectra Ingeniería was announced, after serving for several years as Director of Operations of the company.
González is an electrical and electronic engineer graduated from the Javeriana University and completed a specialization in Project Management at the University of San Buenaventura, both in the city of Cali, Colombia.
Ventas de Seguridad spoke exclusively with the executive, who shared his impressions about his new role, as well as the initiatives he wants to lead from his new position.
How do you take on this new professional challenge?
I assume the position of general manager with great gratitude to God for the opportunity, to the partners of the company for the trust they placed in me and to my family for the support they have given me to achieve it. Leading the main integrator of the Andean region is a great honor. I know that this role comes with greater responsibility, but I accept it with great enthusiasm because it also represents a huge opportunity to learn and grow professionally and personally.
What expectations do you have with the position and what are your first objectives?
My main focus will be to lead and work together with the team to achieve organizational objectives and face the challenges that arise along the way, promoting a creative and innovative work environment, in which the members of the organization can grow and develop their potential. I am confident that we will face this new challenge and work tirelessly to achieve a bright future for our organization and our families.
What plans does Spectra have in the short and medium term at the level of expansion, projects and alliances?
We have been leaders in the integration of electronic security solutions and IT infrastructure for 20 years and we are advancing in the strengthening of two additional business lines: industrial automation and software development. We have managed to be awarded very interesting projects in these two verticals and we are convinced that we will soon be a reference in the region.
How has 2023 been for the company in terms of business opportunities in Colombia?
Although the volatility of the dollar and the slowdown in logistics processes have been a challenge to overcome in recent years, the end of 2023 promises that for the second consecutive year we will achieve double-digit growth and a very optimistic outlook for next year, a situation that we have not seen since the pandemic. Companies are perceiving the benefits of automating their processes, in terms of increased efficiency, by including technological tools in them.
This has allowed us to grow in recurring customers and to attract new ones, based on five fundamental pillars of our management, which seek their permanent satisfaction: the advice we provide so that the alternative we present is the one that best suits their needs; that the implementation of the projects allows them to have an optimal system; fulfill in a timely manner the commitments we acquire; That the training we give to your staff leads them to get the best out of using the implemented solution and the constant development of our human talent.
