Mobile phones as access credentials, a resource saver

HID Claro

Argentina. The update of its access controls has meant to the company Claro significant savings of time and money, just informed the manufacturer of secure identity products, HID.

The implementation of the HID Mobile Access system was carried out at the company's facilities in Argentina, a country where the telecommunications giant has thousands of employees.

Until now, Claro invested large amounts of resources in the maintenance of stock destined to the production of new credentials, in addition to the replacement of these in case of loss or breakage. Likewise, the opportunity to improve the traceability of personnel and ensure the proper use of active credentials was identified.

This migration to HID Mobile Access increases efficiency without compromising security, not only allows mobile devices to be used as credentials to access doors, networks and services, but Claro can remotely manage their credentials, centrally.

"With the new mobile credentials, hosted on smartphones, employees can access offices and other areas more quickly and Profile photo of Hernan Lissandrello conveniently. A short-range gesture (touch), or an intuitive long-range gesture "Twist & Go" is enough to enter, "says Héctor Hernán Lissandrello, Physical and Electronic Security analyst at Claro.

Additionally, Lissandrello stressed that with the new system there is less risk of loss of credentials, taking into account that it is less frequent for people to lend or misplace their phone.

Other components of the solution
HID Signo readers were also an important part of the update. These devices support a wide range of credentialing technologies, giving the system flexibility.

Finally, thanks to the HID Origo platform, Claro administrators can now create, manage, issue and revoke credentials very quickly and through the cloud.

So far, the company has issued more than 800 mobile credentials and approximately 100 Signo readers have been installed at its Profile photo of Juan Alonsofacility. Claro's plan is to reach the rest of the headquarters and countries in the region with Mobile Access technology in the coming months.

In this regard, the Sales Manager for HID Physical Access Control Systems in the Southern Cone, Juan Alonso, added that "we have worked with Claro, year after year, and the confidence they have in HID has ensured the successful deployment of Mobile Access in Argentina, and in other countries in the region."
