International. RecFaces, developer of biometric software solutions with facial recognition features, introduces the extension of its Id-Guard and Id-Gate facial recognition software for Linux operating systems.
The latest update aims to increase the availability of the brand's product line for physical security, making them compatible with Debian-based operating systems. Most importantly, the company's new update offers end consumers the choice of operating systems when upgrading their systems.
One of the key advantages of adopting Linux systems as a host server is the significant reduction in total ownership costs. The optimized core operating system requires lower hardware specifications, which significantly reduces the licensing cost and increases the service period of deployed solutions. In addition, using Linux systems improves stability and security within the installation environment.
From a technical standpoint, RecFaces' microservices architecture, combined with containerization, significantly simplifies deployment, upgrades, and overall system maintenance. This enables end users to maximize the efficiency of out-of-the-box Id-Guard and Id-Gate software solutions, which can be deployed locally or via the cloud and are compatible with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Id-Guard is a software solution for video surveillance and security systems that allows end users to extend the functions of a traditional video surveillance system by identifying in the video stream. The new version of the Id-Guard solution, which runs on a Debian-based operating system, opens up opportunities to leverage facial recognition technology in a wider variety of environments to enhance physical security.
Maria Kazhuro, RecFaces Business Development Manager for Latin America, commented: "This is just the beginning of a new strategy by RecFaces to update all our product lines. We believe this will lead to a more efficient way of providing our solutions to end consumers worldwide."
