Colombia. In a public event that took place in the city of Ibagué, the Governor of Tolima, Ricardo Orozco Valero, made the official delivery of security devices for the city, this project, which included 293 new cameras and integration with another 200 more existing, leaves the capital of Tolima with a great response capacity guaranteeing greater security for citizens.
Dahua Technology, in the company of a strategic ally in Colombia, designed the video surveillance solution, which will work from this month. In addition, this technology allows the authorities to do facial recognition on any of the cameras installed.
As part of the installed devices there are 60 Dahua cameras for the recognition of license plates, in this way from the date, the municipality can make security rings and has the ability to track the routes of vehicles or motorcycles in criminal acts such as kidnappings, extortion, freight, among others.
This phase of the security project allows real-time facial recognition and real-time capture of events, for example, if there is a list of people who are being sought by justice, the system will generate quick alerts to public entities and follow up on these people.
For Hernán Fajardo, North-West regional manager of Dahua Technology Colombia, with the installation of this equipment, Ibagué takes a step forward in terms of security.
"The Dahua system that was implemented is designed with state-of-the-art features in tracking and correlation of events, has a high technology that allows us to have artificial intelligence for facial recognition, attributes such as shirt and pant color, license plate recognition with characteristics such as vehicle type and color, in addition, it offers the authorities the ability to analyze and generate early warnings of criminal acts. "
Likewise, the manager added that these cameras have a real-time visualization capable of identifying events at great distances, which together with other features will significantly help the Metropolitan Police to provide greater security and tranquility to the inhabitants of the capital of Tolima. "
An installation with Artificial Intelligence
The system also has a monitoring center that makes up 12 screens and allows interaction with the platform and each of the devices. Each of the operators also has a unified command post with which they can track events and make decisions regarding what is happening.
The objective of the project to include Artificial Intelligence is that all devices help operators in decision-making and the dispatch of resources if necessary. All this makes citizen security much more agile and efficient and provides greater collaboration and confidence to the citizen, and of course to the Public Force as support for their operating schemes.
In the future the system may include an integration with the traffic light network, in this way it will be possible to make a smarter management of the city, turning it into a Smart City system that not only focuses on security but in response to citizenship, generating a higher quality of life for all.
