Axis Communications and Genetec present innovative access control solution

International. Axis Communications and Genetec Inc., have partnered to present an access control solution for a level of business demand, network door controllers.

Axis Powered by Genetec combines Axis network door controls and Genetec access control software into a comprehensive solution, offering easy deployment, maintenance and scalability, along with improved cybersecurity for both end users and system integrators.

According to communication shared by Axis, access control is an "essential pillar of physical security and today's companies, which need more advanced tools". That's why it partnered with Genetec to "introduce the industry's first enterprise-grade access control solution."

So, by unifying Axis network gate controllers, AXIS A1210 and AXIS A1610 references, with Genetec's IP-based access control software, Synergis™, both companies ensure that their customers benefit from reduced installation time and hardware costs, while receiving enterprise-level control functions. immediate access for hardware and software enhancements, as well as cybersecurity updates from both Axis and Genetec, directly through Genetec Synergis.

In an official statement both companies shared that "this new architecture perfectly unites the new door controls with Synergis through the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) to enable real-time event and alarm monitoring, advanced cardholder management and comprehensive access and reporting management."

Fredrik Nilsson, vice president, Americas, Axis Communications, explained that his company delivered to the market the first open and non-patented IP-based access controller a decade ago, with the vision of creating smarter and more interoperable systems, and clarified that since then, its commitment to innovation in this type of solutions, added to the partnership with the best in the sector has not changed.

"We recently introduced unified video management and access control for small and medium-sized businesses with Secure Entry with AXIS Camera Station. Today, with Genetec our long-time valued partner, we are proud to launch a powerful, enterprise-grade solution that integrates our door controllers with Genetec's best-in-class access control software."

Michel Chalouhi, Vice President of Global Sales at Genetec, said the two companies share a trusted partnership built on a long history of collaboration and development ingenuity.

In addition, they emphasized that users will benefit from the continuous delivery of product and firmware improvements, new features and important cybersecurity updates, all coming from the two industry-leading innovators. "Together, the Axis-Genetec partnership offers the ability to scale a system easily, cost-effectively and step-by-step by helping end users scale as physical security needs evolve."

Ready for ISC West and The Venetian Expo
Finally, the Axis Powered by Genetec network door controllers will be presented at Axis booth #14051 and Genetec booth #20045 at ISC West, The Venetian Expo, in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 29-31, 2023. These products will be available through Genetec's certified network of strong partners in April of this year.
